The Speech Production Lab is dedicated to improving the understanding of typical and disordered speech and feeding. The lab is directed by Dr. Jordan Green, who teaches courses on the physiologic and neurologic basis of speech, language, and hearing. Our current research projects are designed to identify the motor skills that are essential for normal speech and feeding development, to understand how various neurologic impairments, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), affect speech and swallowing, and to develop innovative methods for studying speech motor performance. The Speech Production Lab offers excellent training opportunities for students interested in a research career in communication disorders.

The Speech Production Lab is located in room 141 on the first level of the Barkley Memorial Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The Barkley Memorial Center provides speech, language and hearing diagnostic and therapy services to adults and children.
