Child Development Issues

Many parents have questions about their child's speech and language development. We hope these resources will be helpful in locating answers.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association: This site is the official website for speech language pathologists and audiologists. It offers information to both professionals and the public on research, disorders, assessment and diagnosis as well as treatments.

Barkley Memorial Center Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic: Refer to this website for a description of services offered by the center.

Zero to Three: Founded in 1977, this resource provides information to parents regarding the development of babies and toddlers from birth to three years old.

 

Amoyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

National Institure of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD): The division of the National Institute of Health that provides a major source of funding for research related to communication disorders including ALS.

Medline Plus: Patient-friendly information and tutorials on ALS.

ALS Association: The ALS Association focuses on ALS awareness with many national and local activities to shine the spotlight on research, care and support, and advocacy in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
